Totally recommend for a transient visit

Charming cabooses, friendly staff, we enjoyed the convenient location with a great view of the Strasburg Railroad steam trains passing right by our door.

We loved sleeping in a real caboose, it was such a fun and unique experience! The kids enjoyed watching the trains go by while we kicked back at the cozy on-site restaurant that served delicious meals. Just wish the air conditioning was a bit quieter, but overall, it was a fantastic stay! 🚂

Staying in the large family caboose was charming and cozy. The décor beautifully captured the railroad theme while being comfortable. Plus, the petting zoo and playground were delightful for the grandchildren, making our stay truly enjoyable.

our stay at the red caboose motel & restaurant was fantastic! we loved the rustic styling and how clean everything was. the location near the strasburg railroad was a huge plus for our family, and the kids enjoyed the farm animals and movie nights in the barn. the on-site restaurant was delicious, too!

We stayed in the Small Family Caboose and it was super cozy! The decor was cute and everything was clean. It had all the necessities too, which was a nice touch. My teens thought it was a bit small at first, but they loved exploring the property and the animals. The Bible opened to a verse was sweet. Only downside was the bed was snug, but not a huge deal.

We had a fantastic time staying in the Double Double Caboose with our kids! The kids loved the happy herd of adorable animals at the petting zoo, and the rustic charm of the caboose made it a fun experience. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions, too.

In my wife’s opinion, the outdoor seating could use more shade for the kids during sunny days.

However, our mattress was a bit too soft, which left my back feeling sore in the morning. A simple fix like adding hooks in the bathroom would improve things a lot.

Unique Experience in a Caboose

Staying in a real caboose was an exciting adventure that my family loved. Our Large Family Caboose was spacious enough for two adults and two toddlers, equipped with plenty of towels and attentive service from the staff.

Staying in the Baggage Car is a unique experience. the train-themed rooms definitely catch the kids' attention. The location offers convenient access to a nearby petting zoo and an observation silo, perfect for family activities.

The Baggage Car's layout felt cramped, with minimal space and a notable smell that lingered. Cobwebs and unkempt areas were unfortunate details, and the proximity of the ceiling fan to the beds raised safety concerns. Additionally, there was noise from neighboring cars that made it difficult to sleep, particularly when kids ran around. The amenities advertised, like horse-and-buggy rides and a train ride for kids, weren't available, which felt misleading.

Staying in the baggage car was a thrill for my kids! The mini train ride and petting zoo were big hits. Loved the quirky charm!

Felt like at home, no complaint.
